Andrew Wadsworth

Born and educated in the United Kingdom, Monsignor Andrew Wadsworth, Cong. Orat. is a priest of the Washington Oratory of St Philip Neri, ordained in 1990. Executive Director of The International Commission on English in the Liturgy (ICEL), 2009-2023, the agency responsible for the making of draft English translations of Latin liturgical texts for use throughout the Roman Catholic Church. Since 2019, Director of The St Gregory Institute for the Study of Latin liturgical texts, a collaborative project between ICEL and the Department of Ancient & Medieval Languages & Cultures at The Catholic University of America, where he is also Research Assistant Professor of Greek and Latin. He also teaches Liturgy at the Pontifical Faculty of the Immaculate Conception at the Dominican House of Studies. He is Provost of the Washington Oratory and Prefect of Music in the parish entrusted to their care, St Thomas Apostle, Woodley Park.
