Ruth Cline

Ruth Harwood Cline has published English verse translations of the Arthurian romances of Chrétien de Troyes and a prose translation of Geoffrey Grossus, The Life of Blessed Bernard of Tiron, She received the American Translators Association Lewis Galantière Prize for 1992 (best non-German literary translation published 1990-1991) for Chrétien de Troyes' Lancelot; or, the Knight of the Cart. She wrote The History of St. Alban's Parish, Washington, D.C., 1854-2005 and has published several articles in the fields of Medieval and early Washington history. Her areas of specialization include monastic orders and the Magna Carta. She is a professional diplomatic translator of French, Spanish, and Portuguese into English.
